Banner Training

We need your help assisting Local 8 by bannering certain hotels that are in the Miami area that are against an unfair Employer. IATSE Local 500 will be hosting a class specifically for the proper and legal way to "Banner".  Anyone who is interested in participating we encourage you to join us on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00am at our Union office located 1001 NW 62nd Street Suite 220 Fort Lauderdale , FL 33309.

This class will be taught by International Representative JoAnn Sanders who has been assigned by the IATSE General Office. This class is expected to last approximately one and a half hours. At the conclusion of the training attendees may sign up for "Bannering" activity.

"Official Bannering" participants upon the completion of the training will be paid by the Local $25.00 per person for (4) hour Banner block.
A block consists of a 4-hour window usually between the hours of 8am-12noon.

The focus is on BANNERING the disbursement of handbills is secondary.

Any rigger who is interested in working for PSAV, please contact the Local 500 office. To work with PSAV, you must complete a background check and drug screening. The PSAV hiring list is still open.
